More progress on Fair Rosemond's Bower

Painting the stone and brickwork was a fun but tedious task.

In this photo I am starting to work on the many shingles on the roof.
They are made of paperclay.

Now that the painting is done, I will finish the roof and then tackle the landscaping and
add the water under the bridge.
Rik Pierce is teaching another wonderful class at the Chicago International in April 2011.
I highly recommend his classes. You learn a great deal and have fun too.

It is looking just beautiful! I love that project.
I am going to Chicago again in 2011 to the show. Which project is he going to do there?

Catherine, Rik is doing "Rapanzel's Tower". You can see photos by googling Tom Bishop Show Workshops.
I am going to take "Crooked Stick Lane" by Suzanne Larson-Tamburo.

This is wonderful, I'm most intrigued how you have made and laid your roof tiles. I love the window and door frames...just superb. You are so very lucky to be able to attend a Rik Pierce class...a dream of mine! :o))

I saw this completed project at the show this past April. It was amazing.

How did you get your's back home?

Many years ago (1998)I took a class at a NAME show and had a devil of time getting it home. Even though it was 1/2 scale, it was much bigger than I expected and I was traveling by air. The hotel had no shipping facilities. I managed but barely and was always reluctant to take such a class again as a result.

Donna, I am so happy that you are blogging about this wonderful class that you took from Rik. This building is really great and yours is turning out beautiful! I took his "Crooked House" class the end of July
and it is still a work in progress. Seeing your roof tiles that you are starting was really great for me to see. I understand better about what I need to do with them! Thanks!

What a stunning house you are creating! I wish I'd seen how you did your roof tiles BEFORE I did mine LOL I cut all the tiles individually and it took forever!!! and I think they probly shrunk more than if I had done it the way you have? I'd love to attend a Rik Pierce class, but he doesnt come to the uk often :o(
