Vacation for quarter scale 1:48 minatures!

Last week my husband and I had a chance to vacation for a week in a timeshare in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee.
I took plenty of mini kits to work on in my downtime.  After a day of hiking, antiquing or wine tasting, I settled in and worked on some quarter scale miniature kits I have been neglecting for a while.
The filled armoire is a kit by B&J's miniatures.  I am ashamed to say how long I had this kit in my possession unfinished.  The armoire kit went together beautifully.  I used my stain pen and gave it a oak stain finish.
Filling the cabinet overwhelmed me until I just jumped in and started playing.  Because many of the graphics included in the kit were so tiny, I kind of did my own thing.  Once I started, I couldn't stop until I had it completed, which was that evening.

The sewing room is in the third floor of the Jasmine Victorian I am currently working on.
The work table is a kit by the Betterley's.  I used some items from the armoire kit and many items that I have been collecting to fill the table.
This adorable treadle sewing machine was an item I bought finished from B&J's miniatures.
The thread cabinet is also one of their kits.  The beautiful rug I found on pinterest and printed it on fabric.  Just a few more touches and this room will be complete.  My goal is to have the house completed in time to take it to Name National in Indy this year.....or more realistically, next year.
Here is a sampling of some of the flowers I worked on too.
If I was as prolific in working on my miniatures as I was on this one week of vacation, all of my kits would be completed!
Have a wonderful day,
Donna

Crooked Stick Lane House

This is the Crooked Stick Lane house that I finally finished.  It is a kit by Suzanne and Andrews Miniatures.  The dolls are by an amazing artist, Julie Stevens.
I am excited to be taking the house for display at the St. Louis NAME convention next week.
Enjoy visiting the Crooked Stick Lane house!

Working on Kitchen

Here is some progress I have made with the kitchen in my quarter scale Jasmine house.  The kitchen cabinets and table and chairs are from Pretty Small Things.  They are 3D printed.  The chairs are so tiny and detailed...truly amazing.

Jasmine Quarter scale Final floor on.

Over the weekend I put the third floor on the Jasmine Gothic quarter scale house I am working on.

I ordered the shingles and that will be the next step.

I couldn't resist making a few pieces of furniture too.  Here is a wardrobe, a dressed bed and a nightstand.  The dressed bed still needs it pillows.
Have a wonderful day,
Donna

Quarter Scale Jasmine Gothic House

This is a quarter scale Victorian Gothic house that I am working on.
It is a great laser cut kit from Laser Dollhouses http://www.laserdollhouses.com/
Leonard makes great dollhouse kits in 1", 1/2" and 1/4" sizes.
So far I have assembled two floors, added the flooring and wallpaper.  There is supposed to be two staircases in the main hall but I am considering leaving them out.  I also left out one wall to make the living room larger.
This is the front of the house so far.  I painted it a buttermilk color with light green and white trim.
I will post more photos as I progress.
Have a wonderful day.

Fairy Cottage Quarter Scale

This is a photo of my Fairy Cottage.
It is a quarter scale kit by Suzanne and Andrews Minis.
The landscaping was very time consuming but I loved every minute of it.
The bird bath had a bird by Mini Gems, Barbara Meyer.
Each paper punched flower was cupped with a stylus.  I used a colored pencil to all some color to the centers.

The tree trunk is from twisted wire.

Rapunzel

Cinderella by the wishing well.

The pond has resin "water" and two swans.

The stones were all made from paperclay.

Snow White holding a tiny bird.

Have a seat under the tree.

The bird feeder has a tiny cardinal.
Now that the landscaping is done, I am working on the interior furnishings.
Next Wednesday, I am leaving for the NAME Lexington Kentucky Convention.  I plan to buy more goodies for my houses.
Thank you for visiting my Fairy Cottage.
Mini hugs,
Donna

Landscaping Pickett Hill

Landscaping my Pickett Hill quarter scale house has been challenging but fun.
I learned to make many...many hydrangeas and hollyhocks.
I have also displayed several of my tiny dolls that I purchased from Suzanne and Andrews Miniatures.

This is a picture of the front porch.

The bird feeder is from Mini Gems, Barbara Meyer.  See the tiny bird on it too.

I had to have a garden gnome.  It is from Mini Gems too.

A view of the portico.

Through the garden arbor.

Working in quarter scale is a challenge.  Maybe that is what I love so much about it.
The interior of the house is almost finished.  I still have the bathroom fixtures to add.

Have a wonderful day!
